Geocache Description:

Yet another cache with a railway theme!

The cache takes its name from the structure to which it is attached, although the current bridge seems to have gained seven extra steps.
Spanning the line of the former Great Central Railway, the Fifty Step Bridge marks the start of a preserved 10 mile section of single track which runs south to Loughborough.
The bridge is close to the former site of Ruddington station and the track is still used by the Heritage Centre at Rushcliffe Country Park.
The cache is a small custom container with magnet, and suitable for micro trades only.
Please note when retrieving/replacing the cache that only one side of the container is magnetic.

Suggested parking is by the level crossing on Asher Lane at N 052.53.137 W001.09.430 (SK 56810 32352). This parking location also gives "back door" access to the Country Park which has a super play area for the younger geocachers!

There are other alternative routes and parking if you have a bit of local knowledge.
