Unyly klid, vladnouci kraji Helencinu, nalezi minulosti:
vystridal jej zacatkem dubna r. 1930 horecny, nervosni a intensivni
ruch prace lopat, krumpacu, silnicnich automobilovych rozryvacu,
drticu a parnich valcu, pracujicich na uprave budouciho jeviste
velkeho automobiloveho boje o cenu p. presidenta.
Takto basnicky popsal vznik Masarykova okruhu v Brne roku 1933
vydavatel Frantisek Fürst. Ruch byl skutecne „horecny a
nervosni“. Vymerovat se totiz zacalo az kolem Vanoc roku
1929, v dubnu 1930 zacaly vlastni cestarske prace a v zari stejneho
roku se uz jel prvni zavod.
Mnoho lidi mozna vubec nevi, ze se po vetsine silnic puvodniho
Masarykova okruhu dodnes jezdi. S touto cachi si budete moci cely
okruh projet. Nechame na vas, jestli vyuzijete nize uvedeny
itinerar a nechate se jim navigovat zatacku po zatacce. Muzete se
treba spolehnout jen na domaci pripravu a nachystat cestu predem.
Cilem teto cache je projet mista, kde pred sedmdesati lety zavodila
takova jmena jako Louis Chiron, Nino Farina nebo Rudolf
Caracciola.

Tentokrat nic pro turisty
Trasa silnicniho Masarykova okruhu se behem let 1930 az 1986
ctyrikrat zmenila. U teto cache nas bude zajimat puvodni a nejdelsi
okruh. Mel delku 29,142 km, celkovy vyskovy rozdil 240 m, maximalni
stoupani 7 % a klesani 9,5 %. Zavodnici ho projizdeli sedmnactkrat,
proti smeru hodinovych rucicek.
Vasim ukolem bude projet podle itinerare alespon jedno kolo
Masarykova okruhu. Na trase najdete nekolik mist, z nichz ziskate
udaje potrebne pro sestaveni souradnic umisteni cache. Start je na
puvodnim miste, v depu na souradnicich N 49° 10.411', E
016° 32.797'.
Na rozdil od zavodniku v tricatych letech minuleho stoleti ale
budete trasu projizdet po smeru hodinovych rucicek. K teto uprave
pravidel jsme sahli kvuli problematicke jihovychodni casti okruhu,
ktera dnes vubec neodpovida puvodni silnicni siti a prujezd
„spravnym smerem“ by byl komplikovany.
Tato cache je cisty drive-in. Bez auta, motocyklu nebo jizdniho
kola ji lze absolvovat jen velmi tezko. Ani na jednom z kontrolnich
bodu neni nutne zastavovat, staci pribrzdit a zjistit odpoved na
otazku. Najedete priblizne 29 km a melo by vam to trvat asi
ctyricet minut. Cache je ulozena velmi blizko cile a jeji nalezeni
uz bude urcite velmi rychle.
Jako na rallye
Ani k jedne z osmi zastavek nedostanete souradnice. Musite se k
nim dostat prostrednictvim itinerare, ktery je zjednodusenou
obdobou zapisku spolujezdce pouzivanych pri rallye. Vyslovne
doporucujeme, abyste se na cestu nevydavali sami – vezmete s
sebou nekoho, kdo vas bude podle itinerare navigovat.
Itinerar mozna na prvni pohled vypada komplikovane, je ale
jednoduchy. Neustale se v nem opakuji povely typu „za jak
dlouho co nastane“. Cislo ukazuje vzdalenost v metrech a za
nim vetsinou nasleduje popis zatacky. Nejmirnejsi zatacka doprava
je oznacena 1R (z anglickeho Right), stejny typ zatacky doleva 1L
(jako Left). Cisla se zvysujici se obtiznosti zatacek rostou az k
sestce. U zacatky do praveho uhlu se poprve objevi pismena SqR nebo
SqL; podle toho, jestli je nutne volantem tocit doprava nebo
doleva. Pro jeste prudsi zatacky jsou vyhrazeny zkratky HpR (HpL) a
AcR (AcL).
Priblizne uhly jednotlivych stupnu zatacek jsou dobre videt na
nasledujicim obrazku. Na trase je ale nemerte uhlomerem. My jsme
stupne v itinerari take urcovali hlavne podle pocitu pri jizde.
Pro zatacky doleva si predstavte zrcadlove
prevraceny obrazek
Zkratky typu zatacek jsme si nevymysleli, jde o jeden ze
standardnich zpusobu zapisu pouzivaneho pri automobilovych rallye.
Ba naopak – zapis jsme velmi zjednodusili. Abyste se ve sto
triceti povelech v itinerari neztratili, obcas jsme do nej navic
pridali i lidskou rec. Prozrazujeme treba, kde zacina a konci obec,
kde je most apod. Obcas pridáme i slepou mapku.
Jeste pro jistotu priklad: kdyz v itinerari najdete napriklad
vyraz „150 m 2L“, znamena to, ze za sto padesat metru
vas ceka celkem mirna zatacka doleva.
V obci prosim padesat
Rychlostni rekord puvodniho Masarykova okruhu drzi Nemec Rudolf
Caracciola. V roce 1937 zajel nejrychlejsi cas na jedno kolo: 11
minut a 59,3 sekundy. To odpovida prumerne rychlosti 145,851 km/h.
Tento rekord nebyl doposud prekonan a jeho hodnotu jeste umocnuje
skutecnost, ze trat mela prumernou sirku pouze 6,3 m.
Uvedomte si ale, ze nejste Caracciola a ze trasu okruhu
nepojedete na uzavrene trati. Dodrzujte prosim pravidla silnicniho
provozu.

Cilem je ziskat na trase osm cislic oznacenych A az H. Z nich
potom na zaver snadno sestavite souradnice mista, kde je ulozena

The days in April 1930 were really frenzied on roads round about
Brno, Czech republic. The construction of Masarykuv okruh (Masaryk
circuit) has been started. The work was over already in five months
and the first race was started in September.
Most people probably don’t know, that they can still use
the major part of original Masarykuv okruh on a present. You can
come through whole circuit with this cache.

There are many interesting geocaches near the path
of circuit. You will find them
in this list (please log in first).
Nothing for tourists
The routing of Masarykuv okruh was four times changed during
years 1930–1986. We are interested in the original and the
longest circuit. It’s length was 29.142 km, elevation 240 m,
maximal climb 7 % and maximal descent 9,5 %. Racers run it through
seventeen times, anticlockwise.
Your goal is to drive through Masarykuv okruh only once. You
find some places along your route where you get useful information
for cache coordinates compilation. Start of your route is in
authentic place, in pit stop with coordinates N 49° 10.411', E
016° 32.797'.
Unlike racers in 30’s you will go your route clockwise. We
choose this way by reason of new motorways on south-east part of
circuit. It would be rather complicated to use the original way
today.
This cache is an absolute drive-in. You need to go by car,
motorcycle or bicycle. You can’t stop on any check-point,
just slow down and find an answer to questions. The cache is hidden
near the final destination and you sure will find it very
quickly.
Rally simulator
We don’t provide you coordinates of eight stages. You must
to come in using a itinerary. It looks like pacenotes of rally
co-driver. We really recommend you to not go alone. You would
rather take anybody to navigate you.
The itinerary may look elaborately, but it is quite simple. It
without end repeats „when and what“. The number shows a
distance in meters and a curve description follows. The easiest
curve to right is tagged as 1R (as Right), the same type of left
curve is 1L (as Left). The numbers are increasing when curves are
more and more difficult – till six. A curve in right angle is
tagged SqR or SqL (right and left), close angle curves HpR (HpL)
and AcR (AcL).
You can see approximate curve angles on next pictures. But
don’t use an angle gauge or any ruler on your road. We used
our driver’s feeling for itinerary making too.
Respect speed regulations
The speed record of former Masaryk circuit is from German Rudolf
Caracciola. He run the fastest lap in 1937: 11 minutes 59,3
seconds. The average speed was 145.851 km/h.
But remember that you are no Caracciola and you aren’t on
closed circuit. Observe the speed and other traffic rules.
