Volunteer firefighters do a lot more for their communities besides responding to calls. They talk to kids in schools, give tours of the station, do fire safety inspections for home owners, host fundraising events, and particpate in community celebrations, etc.
I picked this location because to get here most people would have driven past the Bragg Creek Community Centre. Each year in July the firefighters of the area host a fundraising pancake breakfast as part of the Bragg Creek Days celebration.
Whether this is the first cache of this series you have done or the last, I hope it helps bring attention to the valuable work the volunteer firefighters all over the world perform.
This cache is an ammo can hidden in Bragg Creek Provincial Park. This area has been hit hard by flooding in June of 2005 and wind storms in November of 2006. Many large trees have been toppled and these are a testament to the power of nature. While here you may want to take some time for a BBQ or picnic.
