Hrad Ronovec, dnes zricenina, byl zalozen nedlouho pred rokem 1261 na uzemi , ktere nalezelo panum z Lichtenburku. Tento rod vlastnil rozsahle panstvi rozprostirajici se od Caslavi v pasu pod Zeleznymi horami k rece Sazave na jihu a do sousedstvi Zdarskeho klastera na vychode. Hrad Ronovec byl zalozen jako jeden z opernych piliru moci rodu Lichtenburku. Vlastnictvi hradu nasledne preslo na pany z Lipe. Naposledy obyvali hrad pani z Ronovce. Jiz v obdobi husických valek prestal byt obyvan a od roku 1544 je jiz zminovan jako pusty. Proto se do dnesnich dnu dochovalo jen torzo zastavby. Do zdiva palace jsou zasazeny erby majitelu a desky s historii hradu.
Nedaleko zriceniny hradu roste jeden z nejmohutnejsich smrku v regionu. Stari je vic nez 150 let, vyska 42 metru a obvod kmene meri 3,6 metru.

Ronovec castle, a ruin today, was found some time before 1261 in territory of Lichtenburks´. This lineage owned a large manor, spreaded from Cáslav town under Železné Hory mountains to Sázava river in the south and to neighbourhood of Ždár monastery in the east. Ronovec castle was established as one of the Lichtenburks´ power pillars. The ownership of the castle descended to “ Z Lipé” lineage later and after lineage called “Z Ronovce” occupied this castle as the last. Already during Hussite wars the castle was empty and since 1544 is mentioned as deserted. Therefore just a torso of the building has been preserved until nowadays. Coats of arms and plates with history of the castle are mounted into the castle walls.
There is one of the hugest spruce of the region not far from the Ronovec ruin. Its age is more than 150 years, height 42 m and the tree trunk girth is 3,6 m.
