Donate with PayPal! Donate to Spring Fling III with PayPal!

Paypal Donations are fantastic because they allow us to take care of many of the administrative costs and lesser seen fees like buying envelopes, pencils, pens etc. Nobody should feel like they have to donate to attend any geocaching event, but we certainly will not complain if you are interested in doing so!

Travel Bugs and Trackables

Travel Bug IconIsquba, a professional Travel Bug tour operator, is once again going to coordinate the trading of the trackables visiting the Fling.

Each trading trackable will have an information sheet prepared for it. Try to drop off your trackables into the Fling by midnight Wednesday so that Isquba has time to prepare the documents.

This is a good time to contact the trackable owners so that they can update the trackables' goals. Send an email to Isquba to let him know if you are bringing a personal trackable that does not need an info sheet.

Apres Fling

Rumor has it that there is a pubnight going on somewhere within 15 minutes of the Spring Fling event! Would you believe that this event is happening just in time for dinner purposes for the Spring Fling event also!

"Bleachers" Sports Bar on Base Borden just outside Angus will host a number of cachers for Dinner. Having been there once myself, I can say its worth the 15 minute drive!

Note that attendance to the Spring Fling event does not necessarily guarantee you a spot at the Apres Fling event! If you have not already, register early to make sure that you can get in!

Mentorship Program

Remember the first event that you ever attended? Did you feel out of place and feel like you didn't fit into the "Group"?

The Central Ontario Geocachers this year will be seeking involvment from interested cachers who wish to be "Mentors" throughout the day. Basically Speaking, Mentors will be approachable and will have knowledge about Geocaching of all degrees. While we find that most Geocachers are friendly and approachable, it takes a special sort of "Someone" to be a mentor.

Simply Put, Mentors will agree to discuss Geocaching, GPS recievers, Geocache Placements, or any other topic that a "Newbie" or less experienced cacher might have.

Cachers who agree to be a mentor throughout the day will be equipped with a special sticker affixed to their nametags that identify them as someone who is approachable in this regard.

Anyone wishing to become a mentor, or with further information should contact Swifteroo directly.

Fine COG Fare

Team Woods Will again be manning the BBQ this year. As always, we expect that their fare will be nothing short of spectacular.

The (not so) fine print:
All proceeds received in regards to the BBQ will be put back into the cost of hosting the event. In the event of a surplus, all remaining proceeds will be put back into a fund for the next event.

Look what people had to say about previous year's fare!

"Even the cooks did a superb job, great burgers!" -JDandDD

"And the burgers were top-notch" -Permakay

"Great burgers to do the rest while we stayed still" -Amazon Annie

"Flipping burgers by Team Woods was a huge success." -Isquba&Nawty

"Thanx again for Good Food and Great Event." -Southern Accent

"To Team Woods - lunch was, once again, fantastic." -Dierdre's Explorers

"The food was great. Hats off to the cooks." -Buttons and Beaux

"Team Woods and gang had the burger flipping down to a fine art that made the folks at McD's cringe" -Logger&Trail

The Day's Activities

H.F Reign's Pavilion O' Fun!

The beloved H.F. Reign has offered up her wealth of abilities to provide us with a myriad of activities in and about the Pavilion throughout the day!

Juicepig's Triforce of Horrors!

Juicepig will be treating us to a special challenge this year at the fling.  Participants will sign up for the event at the registration table and shortly before lunch the spectacle that is - will be performed.  No details of the event will be given out until it begins so participate at your own risk.  Spectators are welcome (but won't be eligable for prize tickets).

Swifteroo's Poker Run!

A favorite old classic! Find the caches, collect a unique sticker from each one you visit to be eligible to collect cards to make your hand! Best hand wins!

Danoshimano's Historically Fantastic Placement!

Danoshimano has always given us a good quality hide usually centered around coins. Who knows what he has in his brain this year, but we know it will be equally fantastic! UPDATE: I have reason to believe this will be the best Danoshimano placement yet!

Eelow&Beelow's "Evil in the Park" series

I hear these are some pretty good caches! hehe. I was approached by E&B with a proposition. I saw the word "Evil". I said yes.

UPDATE:

Several "GC" listed caches have been placed that will be available within the park on event day! These caches will count towards your "Numbers"!
