Geocache Description:

This is the fifth in a series of caches that will take you around the North Shropshire Meres.

The above coordinates are for the recommended parking. The caches must be done in the order below and each one will involve solving a Sudoku puzzle to be able to obtain the correct coordinates. As you progress through the challenge the puzzles will become more difficult. The difficulty rating relates to the difficulty of the puzzle.

1. A Mere Sudoku Challenge 1 - Blake Mere
2. A Mere Sudoku Challenge 2 - Colemere
3. A Mere Sudoku Challenge 3 - Newton Mere
4. A Mere Sudoku Challenge 4 - White Mere
5. A Mere Sudoku Challenge 5 - Ellesmere
6. A Mere Sudoku Challenge 6 - Hanmer
7. A Mere Sudoku Challenge 7 - Crose Mere

In order to find this cache, you will have had to solve the sudoku puzzle found on the inside of the White Mere cache logbook, and insert the appropriate figures into the coordinates below:

Cache location at:
N 52° (A4)(B8).(C4)(D5)(E7)
W002° (F7)(G9).(H8)(I3)(G7)

This cache is a small round Tupperware container containing a logbook and pencil and a few swaps. Inside the lid of the cache you will find the puzzle that you need to solve for the next cache in the series, the Hanmer Cache. You should copy it down into the blank grid below.

The cache is close to the recommended parking. However this area can be extremely busy at weekends and on holidays so parking near the cache may be problematic. There is free parking in the town in addition to a number of pay and displays nearby, including one at N52 54.208; W002 52.870. The way to the cache can be quite overgrown at times as well as very muddy, be warned! Definitely not suitable for wheelchairs and buggies.

If you haven't done them already, I can recommend some nearby caches, the water signs of the Zodiac series Scorpio, Pisces and Cancer

I recommend that you use a pencil when solving these puzzles or make copies of them to avoid getting half way through, realising that you’ve made a mistake and not knowing where you started from.

The Meres were formed at the end of the last iceage some 12000 years ago and more details can be found at Link
