Geocache Description:

An easy cache in Back Wood which near Bow Brickhill.

Car parking is available at:-
N 51° 59.043 W 000° 40.279

You can approach the cache from two different directions, both walks are a round trip of 1.7 miles. The track is quite rutted, so sorry this isn't recommended for wheelchair users or buggy pushers.

If you are into numbers then we suggest you park near the church at Bow Brickhill at N 51° 59.998 W 000° 40.293 and also do these two nearby caches The Sticky Cache and Keynes Overlook.

The more scenic walk via some nice ponds starts at Little Brickhill where we recommend you park at N 51° 59.043 W 000° 40.279. Walk down the farm road until you get to a trailhead at N 51° 59.162 W 000° 40.509.

Once you cross the stile, head across a field towards a nice footbridge at N 51° 59.300 W 000° 40.587. To your left you will see a mysterious pond. Local rumour says a richly bejewelled lady that drowned here hunts it. Her horse driven coach crashed into the Pond. This track used to be the main road to Little Brickhill.

In "A Tale of Woods" H Harmen recorded this story;- There was a young chap from Bletchley starting working at one of the farms and the first night he walked up through the woods. It was an awful dark night and when he got in the middle, he heard such a row a coming up behind, and all at once, a funny shaped coach came tearing past him in the wind. It was full of people and such funny looking fellas too that he was frit out of his wits. Did he ever see it again? No fear, he never went to work again at that place".

The cache container is an ammo can, there is FTF certificate for the first visitor.

FTF honours, go to Team Phoebe - 15 September 2006.
