Geocache Description:

G:UK cache rating

The third and last in the oldies caches. You must have completed Golden and Silver Oldies to be able to find this cache, and this one ends in a Gallery of Fame! So you must take with you a DIGITAL CAMERA for a photo with the cache, and a PEN or

Here is the Latitude and Longtitude co-ordinate grid :-

N 52° EA.GCJ'
W 001° BD.HFK'

WHAT? You don't see any numbers?

Maybe you aren't holding your face right.
Look HARDER! They ARE there!

Here are the codes to use :-

A,H,P, = 0. D,G,V, = 1. C,M,R, = 2. E,Q,T, = 3. I,W,Y, = 4.
F,X, = 5. B,O,U, = 6. J,S, = 7. L,N, = 8. K,Z, = 9.

When you have got the platinum oldies c/d from the silver oldies cache, you then have to identify the tracks 1 to 6, again not the name of the tune, but the programmes they introduced on radio or T.V. in the 50's and 60's.

For 7 and 8 not the name of the programme, but the KIND of programme!! bearing in mind this was the late 50's T.V.

And finally 9 and 10, two early records, but this time the name of the singer or performer is needed.

The ten tracks on the C.D. relate to the ten co-ordinates, e.g. track 1 = A, track 9 = J.

Here are the letters needed for the codes to produce the coordinates of the cache :-

Tune 1 = 1st letter of 2nd word
Tune 2 = 1st letter of 2nd word
Tune 3 = 1st letter of 2nd word
Tune 4 = 1st letter of 3rd word
Tune 5 = 1st letter of 2nd word
Tune 6 = 1st letter of 3rd word
Tune 7 = 2nd letter of word
Tune 8 = 5th letter of word
Tune 9 = 1st letter of surname
Tune10 = 1st letter of surname

So that should complete your co-ords to the cache.

The cache is only approx 40mm square, and is a blue snap shut box with log inside to sign, (see photo)

Take photo of cache, preferably holding it (and smiling), by a hedge nearby, not giving away the location of anything in the background, (see photo of Mrs. S-B). When logging cache on internet site, download your photo for the gallery of fame! and as you have solved all the puzzles in Golden, Silver and Platinum, you really do deserve to be in the gallery.

Please make sure your not seen retrieving cache or replacing it and please hide well.

For those who have already logged Silver Oldies, you know where to pick up the Platinum Oldies c/d.

Sorry no further help available for this cache.

As a check on your answers all the numbers obtained from the 10 questions should add up to 34.

Please report any "did not find" so I can check the cache is still in place.

Well done to First, Second and Third To Find.
