Geocache Description:

A Cache hidden at Beautiful Forum Lake in the Akamina-Kishinena Recreation Area

This area is too beautiful to go without a cache, so here it is!

The trailhead for this fantastic hike is just off the Cameron Lake road in Waterton Lakes National Park on the Alberta side. Once you've trekked yourself over the Akamina Pass, you're in the Akamina-Kishinena Recreation Area in the very SE corner of British Columbia.

The hike one-way to Forum Lake is 4.5km (2.8mi) and gains about 300m (1,000ft) - mostly in the second half of the hike. The lake itself is a beautiful mountain lake, enclosed on three sides by sheer cliffs - thus the name.

The cache hide is not meant to be difficult, but is hidden well enough to prevent unintentional finding. The cache contains the regular trading items, a log book, and a couple of Calgary Area Cachers coins for collection or trade.

If you've come this far, make a day of it and head over to nearby Wall Lake for more spectacular scenery. Or if you're ambitious, head up to the Akamina Ridge above Forum Lake for some amazing views of Cameron Lake, Glacier Nat. Park to the south, and the Rockies along the Continental Divide to the north.

Happy hiking, and Happy Caching!!!
