Kerava River Hopping I - The Unsteady Bridge (In Memoriam)

Vantaan kaupunki purki alkuperäisen huojuvan sillan, joten kätköpaikka on vaihtunut 19.09.2007. Nyt piilopaikkana on viereinen Keravanjoen ylittävä vanha kivisilta.

Ole varovainen, ettet putoa ja etenkin ettet pudota kätköä veteen!


Lähin laillinen parkkipaikka on Tikkurilantien toisella puolella olevan liiketalon sisäpihalla.

Tämä kätkö on mahdollista löytää myös ilman GPSr:ää

Vieressä on tutustumisen arvoinen vanha vernissatehdas ja pato/koskialue. Lisätietoa Vernissatehtaasta täältä. Padolla on hieno yövalaistus.

Jos liikut jalkaisin tai pyörällä, niin sarjan seuraaville kätköille kannattaa seurata joenvarren ulkoilutietä.

Jos haluat saavuttaa"Supreme Exalted Geomaster of Kerava River®" (syvä kumarrus) - arvonimen, niin kaikkien tämän sarjan kätköjen löytämisen ja "Grand GeoMaster of Kerava River®" -arvon saavuttamisen lisäksi sinun tulee "logata" käyntisi kätköpaikalta 20 metriä alajuoksulle päin olevan aavemaisen hylätyn tiilisavupiipun tikapuille seuraavien sääntöjen mukaisesti:

1. Loggaminen tapahtuu kiinnittämällä yksi oma nippuside savupiipun tikapuurautaan. Mieluiten pieni musta nippuside. Se ei näy kadulle.

2. Jokaisen on kiinnitettävä oma loggauksensa aina yhtä tikapuuta ylemmäs, kuin mitä edellinen on tehnyt. Tässä esitätte samalla kätkön tekijälle henkisen haasteen, sillä onhan loggaukset käytävä lopuksi tarkistamassa :-). Lähtötason asettava loggaus tehtiin kahdennelletoista tikapuulle 9/5/06 1:00.

3. Kiipeämistä helpottavia apuvälineitä ei saa käyttää (turvavarusteet ovat sallittuja).

4. Mieluiten pimeän/yön aikaan.

The City of Vantaa dismantled the original Unsteady Bridge so the cache has been moved to a new hiding place on the old stone bridge close by.


Be careful not to fall and not to drop the cache into the water!.


Closest parking is on the other side of Tikkurilantie in the courtyard of the office building.

This cache can be found without a GPSr.

While you are here, go see the nearby old Varnish factory and nice Tikkurila dam/rapids area. The dam has nice nightlights.

If you are by foot or bike, then you can follow the nice riverside path to the next cache's in this series.

Voluntary part:

If you want to achieve the "Supreme Exalted Geomaster of Kerava River®" (deep bow) - title, then in addition to collecting all the caches in this series and achieving the "Grand GeoMaster of Kerava River®" - title, you also need to "log" your visit to the deserted old brick chimney that is 20 meters downstream from the cache following these rules:.

1. Logging is done by attaching one cable tie to the iron ladder of the chimney. Preferably small black ones. They are not visible to the street.

2. Each logger will have to make the logging one step higher than the previous one. This will present a challenge also for the cache owner, since he has to check the loggings. The logging setting the base level was made 9/5/06 1:00 to the 12th ladder.

3. No equipment, that will help the climbing, is allowed (except safety equipment).

4. Preferably at night time.
