Geocache Description:

Although this cache is not inside the Okehampton Range, check that your route does not enter the range area if there is firing taking place.
This tor can be seen from Meldon and seems to hang off the side of the valley. It offers good views down into the nature reserve.
The cache is a 400ml clip box with a log in a 35mm film pot. May have no pen.

(If you want to make a walk of it, can I suggest you take the following route. Park at the Meldon Dam car park - where there are toilets. Walk over the dam and turn left down the steps. Go downstream to 'Viaduct View'. Then turn up the Red-a-Ven Brook valley and follow the stream uphill to 'Get Your Head Down' and 'Lido-Yes Tor'. Continue up, joining the military track before turning left on the col to 'West Mill Tor'. Reverse your course and follow the elephant track up 'Yes Tor', 'High Willhays' and on to 'Fordsland Ledge'. Drop down to 'Black Tor' - following animal tracks through the featherbed is best. If you want to take in 'Shelstone Tor' as well, drop straight down to the river and then up 100 m before rising slowly up animal tracks to Shelstone. Then back to Meldon. Alternatively go from Black Tor to the track bend at N50 41.809 W004 01.568 and then curl around Longstone Hill back to the dam. Hope you enjoy the walk and the caches.)
