Geocache Description:

The Su Doku Challange, Part 1

The first of three puzzle caches which should be solvable in the field. The cache is the same coordinates, but has been moved up and is now a micro, to save it from muggles. Please replace carefully.

!CONGRATULATIONS! First to find August 4 2006 by Alboy. 100th Finder: Gullands, 15th December 2010. !CONGRATULATIONS!

These three puzzles all take the form of a Su Doku grid, which you have to fill in in order to find the co-ordinates.

The above co-ordinates are not for the cache, but for the Gedge Monument, where you will have to collect some numbers before you can solve the grid. Please be careful near the monument, as it is situated on a main road, so traffic is a danger.

At the Gedge monument, you will have to copy some numbers, labelled a,b,c,etc... into the grid to make it solvable. You then have to solve the grid in order to find the co-ordinates A,B,C,etc.

In all three puzzles, the answer takes the form: N51 10.ABC W00 10.DEF. I have supplied the zero, where it is in the co-ordinate.

Su Doku is not a mathematical puzzle, but a logic problem, so don't let the numbers intimidate you.

The grid is made up of 81 cells, split into 9 3x3 boxes. To solve the puzzle, all you have to do is to write numbers in the cells, such that each row, column and box has the numbers 1 to 9, and that there are no duplications.

The cache is to be found at: N51 14.0BC W00 10.D0F

The inscription on the Gedge monument reads: In memory of Edward F. Gedge who died at Zermatt Switzerland August abth cdef.

Finally, please use some discretion when making your log. Making things too obvious will spoil other people's hunt.

Good luck.
