Hervabu is a small stone cabin located close to the mountain road from Sogn to Bøverdalen. It was used as night cabin in old times for travelers over the mountain. The famous Norwegian writer Henrik Ibsen was stuck in bad weather here the 5’Th of July in 1862. The mountain guide Sølfest Saue who stayed together with him was later the inspiration to several of Ibsens events and persons in his writings.
Other famous writers have also walked by here, like Ludvig Holberg, Henrik Wergeland and P. Chr. Asbjørnsen.
