Der Nufenenpass ((2478 müM) ist der 2.höchste
schweizer Alpenpass. Er verbindet mit 37 km Länge Ulrichen (Kt.
Wallis) mit Airolo (Kt. Tessin). Die 1964 gebaute Strasse ist die
einzige direkte Verbindung das Rhonetals mit dem Tessin.
Nahe beim der Passhöhe befinden sich die Quellen des
Ticinos.
Überquerst du den Pass Richtung Wallis wirst du sofort den
eindrücklichen Griesgletscher, sowie den Griespass und den Griessee
(Stausee) vor Augen haben.
Nufenen (2478m) is the 2nd highest Swiss pass. With ist length of
37km it connects Ulrichen (Kt. Wallis) with Airolo (Kt. Ticino).
The road was built in 1964. It's the only direct connection from
Rhone valley to the Ticino.
Close to the pass are the sources/springs of river Ticino.
Driving towards Ulrichen you'll see Gries glacier (Griesgletscher)
and its lake (with dam)
