DO NOT PARK ON I-90!
If you travel on I-90
and look to the right at just the right time, you might have
noticed on old bridge off to the right. It's been there,
abandoned, for a very long time. I missed finding the
previous cache at this bridge and decided a new one was
warranted.
Down there?
To get to this cache requires some moderate
bushwhacking, if you find the right way down. If you don't
then look out! BTW, DO NOT PARK ON
I-90!
From Tradition Lake Plateau, follow the power
line road to the brink of the plateau.
From there, it's about 400' level and 400'
straight down.
From the bridge, follow the old roadbed away from
I-90 till you see some good size rocks. Look in the Maple
nearby. It's a Lock-n-lock.
My experience on the way down from the plateau was mixed. In
July, this was a hot and dry descent. I encountered a small stream
half way there. I expect when the wet returns, this will be a very
muddy process. At the bridge and in the vicinity, I encountered a
light sprinkling of blackberries, not thick but a nuisance all the
same. I would not recommend this for your average kid.
