Geocache Description:

As with a couple of my caches ,I like to take people to the out of the way and secluded destinations. This time there will be no difference. Except for a mixture of adventure and adrenaline

The reason for the name of the cache is…. it’s the name of a rock climb in the Grose valley. No you will not have to climb it ,but abseil it. You will cover 100 metres in vertical terrain , till you touch the bottom of the Grose valley.

You will need two 60metre ropes to do both pitches. The first abseil will take you to top of a huge pinnacle .The top of the pinnacle will easily take 15 people .heaps of room for a picnic .The views from here a very unique , as few people tread this area. The first wp1 will be on top .

From the top of the pinnacle there are 2 abseil points.( 2 pairs of ring bolts ) which are in the main face of the cliff. Thread your rope and abseil down 50metre to the valley floor. you can use either one of the abseil points. ( I usually use the ring bolts on the left if you are facing the cliff )

Now for the walk out. It’s a 800m walk along the base of the cliff to the Hungerfords walking trail. The trail is extremely faint ( if none at all ,in most places ) from the mirror ball pinnacle to the hungerfords walking trail. This will lead you to the bottom carpak at Piecre’s pass.

Now how to get to this awesome spot!! Leave your car at the walls lookout car park. Walk along the trial to walls lookout . There is a track that turns off east , ( its 200m from the look out. )

If you go to the look out , and look east, you can see the trail that leads along the ledge to mirror ball . ( the ledge is about 4 –5 metre wide )

Once you turn left off the main trail you descend down to the gully .there will cains along the trail to the gully .( small pile of rocks that mark the way .)There is a 150 walk through the gully , and then turn left to the what is called the halfway ledge .follow this for 200m .till you see the chain around the tree. ( the track stops not far from this point )

As with this type of cache only attempted this if you are experienced in abseiling and multi pitches. All the cliffs are unfenced ,and is a dangerous place if you don't know what you are doing .make sure you take prussic gear with you just incase rope gets stuck.

the reason for the Difficulty rating is purely because of the abseil ,and the bush navigation on the exit.take care and enjoy the experience !!
