Geocache Description:

One for the adrenalin junkies. This cache is located about 20m or so down a cliff face. There is a bit of a hike in, depending on where you park. Pick your route carefully, the most direct is not necessarily the best. Coords were taken standing above GZ.

To reach the cache you need to be competent in both abseiling and prusiking (ascending). If you are not, don't attempt this cache.

You will need the following equipment as a minimum:

At least 30m of your preferred rope
A suitable harness
Karabiners
Desending device
Ascenders or prusik loops
A helmet is recommended.
Rope protectors are recommended.

If you take a 50m rope you can try the more challenging route, down through the crevice. Be warned that there are tight squeezes within. Only experienced abseilers should attempt this route.

When you get to the point you will be able to work out the best placement for your rope. To place the cache I abseiled down the face to the point where the deep crevice comes out in a green patch and a small tree is sticking out(see photo). You don't need to go any lower than this for the cache.

This is national park so all flora and fauna is protected. Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints.

Refer to the 1:25,000 topographic map for Lorne 9434-4-S for details on the surrounding terrain and route planning.
