Located along the beautiful Snir River (Hatzbani). Can also be reached by boat/kiyak along the river (in this way cache ratings would be: 2 - 5), but make sure you have a waterproof bag for your gps!
Whenever we are up in the Northern Galilee we try to find a nice, private spot along one of the rivers. This is the best one yet. It has plenty of shade, the river doesn't have too strong a current here - but can be dangerous for young children - so please keep on eye on young kids and have them wear life vests.
We discovered this spot while rafting down the river. We docked the boat - climbed up to see how to get to this spot by car. We returned to following day to enjoy the river and hide the geocache.
You can find this by raft (more fun and challenging) or by car. This spot is on both the family and challenging raft trips along the Snir River.
The cache is on the East bank. If you miss the exact location while going down the river- you can walk back to it from a place further down the river. Not a good idea to leave the boat unattended though.
By car you can get very close to the cache, then you can park and walk down to the river. WARNNG: if they are watering the fields near by, the dirt road is muddy and car can get stuck - so park on the dirt path before the mud and walk.
Take the road (South) behind the Alon Gas Station on the Kiriyat Shmona - Ha'Goshrim highway 99. Pass the loading zone for Ha'Goshrim rafting and continue on the dirt road that follows the river.
We camped this time at Dag Al Ha Dan which is right on the Snir River. Great place to picnic as well.
Update July 31st: Cache has been rehidden in a 35mm film container so hopefully it will stay hidden longer this time. Original contents of this micro cache include tiger balm, ring and log book papers. Please bring your own pen/pencil to log in. Cache hint has been updated.
In the winter may need to wear long pants because will be more brush in cache area.
