At the Emigrant Gap Interprative Center
This is a two-stage cache right at Emigrant Gap, where over 350,000 emigrants said goodbye to the North Platte River valley as they climbed up into the Rocky Mountains, on their way to the west. The first stage is near an informational sign about the area, while the second stage offers a view of the upcoming terrain the emigrants had ahead of them. Final stage is an ammo can filled with various trinkets. Travel west from Mills on Poison Spider road until you see the BLM sign pointing to the interpretive site. Alternatively, you can take Zero road west from Mills and double back when you reach 12 mile road. both roads are well maintained, but the second route is paved for a longer distance of driving.
