Geocache Description:

Cervenec. Okraj Prahy. Slunce svítí jak zjevené. Jsem na ceste už dve hodiny. Vedro k padnutí. Drápu se do kopce. Pot ze me tece proudem. To snad GPSka nemyslí vážne, když ukazuje prímo do tech kopriv. Jau! Šílený vedro! Kdo tu probuh vencil psa?

Zadrž príteli, ted tu máme Advanced Islands of Prague!

Z ostrova je dobre videt na branický železnicní most zvaný též Most inteligence. Se svou délkou 910 metru nejdelší železnicní dvoukolejný železobetonový most v Evrope. Most, který v padesátých letech stavela politicky nepohodlná ceská inteligence, zatímco delnická trída jim delala management.

A proc tolik rozruchu kvuli jedné bezvýznamné náplavce? Šup do plavek a hurá do vody!
Doporucujeme kešku ulovit ješte v léte, i když otužilcum nevymlouváme i jiná rocní období.

July. Prague suburb. The sun shines as mad. I'm on the way for two hours. I scramble to the hill. The GPS can't this mean seriously, when it points just to the middle of nettles. Ow! Hot as in hell. Oh my lord, who has walked his dog here? Yuck, how I can THIS get out from my shoe? Scratched, sweated, tired. Why I fool catch caches here instead of lounging by water?

Stop my friend, now we have Advanced Islands of Prague!

Cache is placed at one of islands on Vltava river in Prague. It's not a real island, but a remnant of and old dam, separating Vltava river from water pool used by ice plants in Braník. After WWII the dam was dug through and formed a 200 meters long, narrow island in the middle of Vltava river-basin. There are rings to bend ships, but I never have seen, that somebody used them.
There are wonderful view to the Braník railway bridge, named also as Bridge of Intelligentsia. With its length 910 meters is the longest concrete two-track railway bridge in Europe. The bridge, that was built in fifties by politically incommodious intelectuals, while the working class made the management. The result looked according to this. Although the bridge is two-track, there are placed only one. Pessimists says that after placing the second track the whole bridge will crash down. The true reason was, that the tunnel just behind the bridge is too narrow to two-track railway.

And why this furor for a unimportant island? Because there is no bridge connecting it with the bank. Nor footbridge. We aren't kidding. So quickly to swimwear and pitapat to the water!
We recommend catch this cache in summer, but we don't reason hardys out of other seasons.
