The cache is in an ammo can elevation at an elevation of 6823ft. Drive safely!
If you have a capable four wheel drive vehicle you can drive almost to the cache. If you chose to hike to the cache it will be quite a grunt from Redding Canyon Road. In order to additionally challenge the geocacher I have not included directions to the right 4WD trail. If later I find that geting on the right road is to troublesome I will post some helpful coordinates.
The cache is near a rather lardge Mojave Mound Cactus. If you can catch one of these cactus in bloom you will understand it's other common name the Claret Cup Cactus. The bright red blooms cover much of the mound.
