INTRODUCTION
Originally, GC Scoubidou was created for the purpose of introducing TB Scoubidou into its country of destination (the first leg of its journey from The Netherlands to France and back). More information about TB Scoubidou can be found here.
This hunt used to be structured in two steps (about 15 km apart) but due to renovations on top the Puy De Dôme, I decided to skip the first stage of the hunt and take you directly to the second stage. So here, you will put your hands on the cache, but your feet might be wet ;-)
The 1:25,000 topo map 2531 ET 'Chaîne des Puys' issued by the 'Institut Géographique National' (IGN) might prove to be useful. It can be purchased in press shops or directly on IGN's website.

IN THE GORGES OF ENVAL
The Ambène River runs down the gorges of Enval and offers a beautiful sight to those who venture along its banks. Depending on the season, the flow in the Ambène River varies from that of a small stream to that of a mountain torrent. The cache was placed in early May and the river had to be forded twice to reach the location (once at ankel level and once at knee level, as seen on the pictures). So be prepared to get wet feet! This is a short but difficult walk, and a very fun one too!
You can park your car at [N45°53.909; E003°02.753]. In the gorges, the GPS signal can be rather weak and the inaccuracy can be up to 30 m. Walk upstream along the riverbank, until you find an old milk tank in the middle of the riverbed. That's the location. The cache is on dry land (high up).
Good luck and have fun!
