Geocache Description:

On your way to the Voortrekkers cache, you can collect this one. From R563 take turnoff to Broederstroom. The road into the installation is a public road and is accessible to all.

The installation was built in 1961 by NASA to follow the unmanned space ships to the moon, Venus and Mars. In 1975 the installation was transferred to CSIR. In conjunction with NASA a joint project determines the exact position of all satellites around the world. GPS satellites are included in this position determination. This installation is a regional data centre for the international GPS service.

The cache is hidden a short walk from eyes to the sky. Lookout for eagles. We also saw many vultures in the area while placing the cache.

Traditional cache the size of a sandwich with the following initial contents:
Beaded sandal
Snake
Spinning top
Shell
Peg
Gorilla
Power Ranger to protect cache
Label
And the usual logbook, pencil and sharpener
