I
have rated this cache as a 3/3 because it should be dark when
you are here. This is my first attempt at a night time cache.
This cache should be easy for all, however you will need to
search for the final cache as it is well hidden. Please allow
about an hour for this cache.
To find this
cache you will need a sense of adventure and a flashlight. The
brighter the flashlight, the brighter the "eyes" will be. I used a
3-D Cell MAGLITE to place this cache, although any
flashlight may work.
What you are
looking for are "Night Eyes". As you probably know, animal eyes
"light up" in the dark when light is shined upon them. As you drive
at night, I'm sure you have seen animal eyes. The concept of this
cache is very similar.
When you reach
the listed coordinates for this cache you can put away your GPS,
you will not need it to find the cache. Now use your flashlight to
locate the "Night Eyes". I recomend holding the flashlight at eye
level for best results. Move the flashlight up and down as you turn
clockwise or counter clockwise. Once you locate the Eye, go to it.
Repeat this process as you make your way towards the cache. This
cache takes you along one of the trails in this great
park.
What you are
looking for are three "eyes" placed close together, then two "eyes"
together. Once you find these two eyes, the cache will be within
normal GPS accuracy range (usually 10-15 feet) of these eyes. You
will need to search the surrounding area for the cache container. I
thought about "lighting it up" but thought that would be to easy.
You can search in the dark or mark the location and go back to
search in the daylight.
Please,
rehide the cache as good or better than you found it so others can
enjoy the reward of a thorough search.
Comments
both positive and negative are encouraged as they will help
make
"Night Eyes II" even better. Thank You and
enjoy.
BONUS:
Hidden somewhere in the woods along the trail is a geocaching
capsule. It will "light up" if you shine your flashlight on it.
Find the capsule and sign the log for a second find on this cache.
