Geocache Description:

Near the top of Woolacombe Down along the National Trust path looking down over the beach and the whole of the bay, the cache is approximately 430ft above sea level with a fairly steep path to it. Hanglider Heaven

Although called Hanglider Heaven you are more likely to see paragliders flying. The Paraglider is like a large parachute as seen in the picture above and a Hanglider is the big triangle shaped framed wing. The best place to park is along Marine Drive, the entrance is at N51 10.060 W4 12.320 and one access to the path up the hill is at this point although it is possible to climb the hill from various places along Marine Drive. Don't be tempted to get any nearer by road, there really isn't anywhere to park. This is near a favourite take off spot for hang gliders & paragliders and is a really good place to watch them especially in the summer when this will be one of the few quiet places around. The path eventually rejoins Marine Drive at it's very end and makes a great circular walk. When set the cache contained lots of goodies including a FTF certificate and prize. Please note this cache now contains a "Resident Geocoin" which should remain in the cache to try and keep the North Devon coin count up. Make a note of the tracking number and 'discover it' when you log your find, but PLEASE leave it in the cache. Thank you.
