To start, you will need to brush up on your Hawaiian History. Below are some key moments and events in the history of the nation's last state. Some simple research should allow you to complete the dates.
Captain James Cook and the crews of the HMS Resolution and HMS Discovery sight O'ahu, Kaua'i, and Ni'ihau on January 18, 1778. Cook names his discovery the Sandwich Islands in honor of his patron, the Earl of Sandwich.
Hawai'i's first cattle—five cows, two with calf—are brought ashore at Kealakekua Bay from Captain George Vancouver's ship on February 2A, 1793.
Kamehameha I the first to unify the Hawaiian Islands under a single leader dies at Kamakahonu, Kailua-Kona, on May 8, 181B.
The first newspaper in the Hawaiian language, Ka Lama Hawaii, is run off the Lahainaluna Seminary press on February 13 1834.
Hawai'i's first English-language newspaper, the Sandwich Island Gazette, is published in Honolulu July 30 1836.
The United States recognizes the Kingdom of Hawai'i on December 1J,1842.
The first steam vessel to come to Hawai'i, the British side-wheel steamer Cormorant, arrives May 22, 1846.
The first shipment of ice arrives in Hawai'i from Boston via San Francisco on September 14, 1850.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt arrives at Kailua-Kona July 25, 1934 the first U.S. president to visit Hawai'i. On July 27, he visits Honolulu.
The U.S. House Committee on Un-American Activities convenes April 19, 1950 in 'Iolani Palace to conduct hearings on Communist influence in Hawai'i's labor organizations.
An act signed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower designating Hawai'i the fiftieth state becomes law on March F8 1959.
And finally June 1G, 2005, sillygirl & jrr find their first Traditional Cache on Oahu, Strangled Palm.

At this location is a small magnetic strip with some coordinates. See the hints section for assistance with the find. There are way too many hiding places, and the purpose of the cache is not to frustrate cachers. However, the coordinates on the strip are for Stage 2 (Pacific)! So now what?
Well, you will have to team up with a cacher from Hawaii who has found Stage 1 (Pacific), and swap the necessary data.
1. Look below for notes that any Hawaiian geocacher may have posted requesting a partner to exchange coordinates with. If you find someone, click on their user name to get to their profile page, then email them via geocaching.com and arrange the trade between yourselves.
2. If you fail to find any such notes, you can post one yourself on the counterpart Hawaiian cache page, GCWBGG, From Sea to Shining Sea (Pacific), requesting a partner to exchange coordinates with. Hopefully, someone in Hawaii who needs a partner in Rhode Island will read your note and contact you via geocaching.com. (You may have to wait a bit for this to happen.)
3. If you've waited more than three weeks without finding a partner, please contact the Hawaiian cache owner, and they will give you the Stage 2 coordinates. (Of course, I could give you the coordinates myself, but that wouldn't be in keeping with the transcontinental spirit of this geocache!)
Important Notes: Please do not post premature "found it!" logs. If you post a "found it!" log before completing Stage 2, your log will be deleted (after fair warning, of course). Also, please remove any partner-seeking notes you post on the Hawaiian cache page after you've found a partner. Otherwise, you'll keep getting contacted, and folks there will be frustrated by the clutter of old notes. Whenever we find outdated notes on these two cache pages, we will remove them. Finally, please don't post any coordinates on either of these cache pages. Posts that include coordinates will be deleted as soon as they are discovered.
Note: The Attributes above are for the final stage. Stage 1 is kid friend, stroller friendly, and a very short walk (depending on where you can find a parking place).
