SHERLOCK HOLMES CACHE #4- It Began On the Niles Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Fossil Doc and Serendipity: We have decided to remove this cache as it is not the proper place ( in front of city hall) to have cachers wandering around in a suspicious manner in these times. We hope all who have visited it have enjoyed the search.

Geocache Description:

This is the Fourth in a series of Sherlock Holmes geocaches placed by team X-treme. This is a one step cache that can be completed in a few minutes. Read the entire cache introduction below and pay particular attention to the high volume of muggles in this heavy traffic area. This cache is wheelchair and winter accessible. Also, be sure to park as close to the cache as possible but in a legal spot - remember no parking fees on Sundays! Good luck and have fun!

The following message was recently sent by Mr. Sherlock Holmes:

“Watson, I again need your help in a little matter that Inspector Lastrade has recently brought to my attention. It seems that our arch enemy Moriarty is again up to his nefarious tricks! In order to foil this sinister plot you must find a small container that Crown Prince Rydzynski of Estonia has left in the seaport city of Buffalo, and once found you must indicate your success by signing your code name.

The above coordinates are not where you will find the packet. These coordinates will bring you to a marker that will tell you about:

“THE HAND EXTENDED IN COURTESY”

REAL LOCATION!

(7) ML CA IYM (0) WNE CL NLL

In order to find the real coordinates you must solve a simple number/letter substitution code with a tiny little trick.

Go to the location found at the posted coordinates and find the name of the man who extended the hand of courtesy! His first name has seven letters and his last name has eight letters. Write them in the spaces below.

___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___

___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___

Use this name for the number/letter substitution to solve the code. Once you have solved it then replace the letters above with the proper number and you will be able to find the hidden packet.
Once again Watson, in respect to your aversion to physical exertion there is no need for any climbing, crawling on your hands and knees or other athletic stunts to find this cache. Good Luck and remember Watson!!!!!!

THE GAME IS AFOOT!
