You seek an ammo can on a seemingly forgotten section of the Florida Trail, in downtown Oviedo.
First, a bit of history;
In the early 1960s, Jim Kern, a Miami resident, visited the Appalachian Trail for a backpacking trip and came back to Florida with a burning desire to create a long-distance hiking trail in his own backyard. Founding the Florida Trail Association to pursue that goal, Kern rounded up like-minded Floridians and set to work. The Florida Trail’s first blaze was painted in the Ocala National Forest near Clearwater Lake in October 1966.
Today, Kern’s original dream of a 500-mile long distance hiking trail has grown to a federally designated National Scenic Trail more than 1,400 miles across the state of Florida, with volunteers from all over Florida seeing to its maintenance, expansion, protection, and promotion.

Due to my patrol area being so rural, I'm constantly coming in contact with folks enjoying the great outdoors, be it fishing, hunting, hiking or caching. If'n you see a patrol vehicle way back in the woods, near Geneva or Chuluota, it's probably me. Come by and say "Howdy".
A lot of people aren't aware of this section of the Trail, which takes hikers through Oviedo, so I thought I'd hide a cache in a kewl spot to bring some more folks out here. As you search for the cache, beware of prickly plants. I'm not a Botonist, so I can't tell you what they are, but I can assure you they hurt like the dickens when you sit on them.
EPE showed 7' accuracy at the time of placement, but remember, my clunky ol' Magellan likes to mess with my head. Hats off to Kleetus who claimed the FTF honors! Whoo Hoo!
