Geocache Description:

The heavenly views from here are well worth the bike ride or take the Island Explorer bus right to West End. Then it's a short walk to the cache. With luck you'll be treated to Seals and Osprey. The Osprey nest on the Island opposite had totally disappeared by 2018.

This cache was placed in 2006, back when there was no bus service and no lookout platform to bring people to what was then a relatively unknown spot. It now lies unintentionally near a major thoroughfare. I have left it here all the same, as it has been approved in this spot by the Rottnest Island Authority.

The Cache is a green Ammo Box.

If you walk a short distance south from the cache you will come to what is left of the the wreck of the 'Kiryo Maru 1'. A Japanese tuna boat that measured 36 meters. Skippered by Mergume Amegata and with a crew of 18. It was wrecked on 6 August 1984, no lives were lost. The wreck has mainly disappeared now but some rusting iron remnants can still be seen at the base of the cliff.
