This 'Cache Across Maryland 2006' cache is hidden 'inside the
beltway'. You'll find it in Indian Creek Park adjacent to Lake
Artemesia.
Lake Artemesia Natural Area is highlighted by a 38-acre lake, an
aquatic garden, good fishing, a handicapped accessible fishing
pier, and more than two miles of hiker-biker trails which connect
it to the Indian Creek Park, Calvert Road Park, and the grounds of
the College Park Airport and Aviation Museum. Take the time to
enjoy a walk around this beautiful lake & grounds, and don't
forget to visit the aviation museum located not far from the
cache.
A bit of trivia for you aviation buffs... The College Park
Airport is the world's oldest continuously operated airport, and is
the site of many significant aviation firsts. It was here in 1909
that Wilbur Wright trained the first two military officers to fly
in the government's first aeroplane. The museum is open daily 10-5
and has a small admission fee.
Enjoy your visit 'Inside the Beltway'.
