La fondazione risale al VI secolo, e fa di questa chiesa una delle più antiche di tutto il Tirolo meridionale. Il suo abbandono, iniziato nel 1782, dette inizio alla decadenza dell’edificio, sino al suo crollo definitivo.

Cache nelle vicinanze dell rudere di chiesa paleocristiana San Pietro a Castelvecchio.
Parcheggiate a Castelvecchio alle coordiante N 46°22.637 E011°14.366. Si segue il “sentiero di pace” fino alle rovine della chiesa di San Pietro. Da questo punto si vede un bellissimo panorama sul lago di Caldaro.

The church ruins date back to the 16 th century. It is one of the oldest churches in South Tyrol. The church began to deteriorate upon its closure in 1782.
Cache near of the earlyChristian church ruin St. Peter Altenburg.

Parked to Castelvecchio N 46°22.637 E011°14.366. Continuations the " path of peace" until the ruins of the church of Saint Peter. From this point a beautifulst panorama is looked at on the lake of Caldaro.
