Now that the road is open again, although traffic is infrequent, take care of passing vehicles.
This cache is adjacent to the road that passes Braydon Pond – very attractive views of the lake and its surrounding forest can be had from the cache location.
The road was closed to through traffic in 2002 when the Victorian embankment dam that carries the road past the lake began to give way. Although newspaper reports of 2003 suggested that the dam and road would be repaired nothing happened until the end of 2006.
No need for separate parking co-ordinates for this cache. Approach the cache location from either direction and park on or near the dam. No need for boots for this cache, although you will need to walk a few paces on the grass verge.
