20th Anniversary Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

niraD: Working on a replacement, I visited the cache site this morning. Vandals have damaged this location again. I hate to do it, but I'm archiving this cache. I can't maintain it, given the abuse this location receives.

Geocache Description:

A small camouflaged cache in a large community park.

The posted coordinates are within a few feet of where my wife and I exchanged wedding vows on Easter Sunday, 1986. I have hidden this cache to honor that first step of our married life.

Palo Alto's J. Pearce Mitchell Park is a large—and sometimes busy—neighborhood park. Its facilities include tennis, handball, and shuffleboard courts; jogging trails; picnic areas with barbecues; a multi-use concrete bowl; toddler playgrounds; a wading pool; a large dog run; and restrooms.

This is not a micro cache, and stealth may be required. If the facility at the posted coordinates is in use (for a wedding, perhaps?), then please come back later, when your search won't disrupt others' activities.

The park is closed between 10:30 PM and sunrise.
