Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
2006 marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the Austrian musical genius whose name has become synonymous with classical music. Symphonies, choirs, and opera houses the world over are honoring the master with special concerts and festivals. I decided to honor him with a cache.
Before you set out to find this cache, you must use your research powers to find two two-digit numbers associated with the following words and a Mozart composition:
1. "Jupiter"
2. "Prague"
The final coordinates are as follows:
N40 56.xxx
W73 48.yyy
Now drive and park at the coordinates listed at the top of this page, where you will find a brown sign (four boards). This sign will give you the rest of the information you need to find the cache.
To find xxx, take the number associated with Jupiter and double it. From this number subtract the number of of times the letter "C" appears on the sign.
NOTE: This "letter" has changed from the original description, as the sign has changed since the original was placed.
To find yyy, take the number associated with Prague and add 100. From this number add the total of number of words on the sign that begin with "W." You're off to find the cache!
NOTE: If your answer to either xxx or yyy is only 2 digits (and one of them should be), add a 0. Ex: 12 becomes 012.
The cache is a small plastic Lock-N-Lock with a white top, well-hidden.
Please hide the cache better than you found it and make sure the lid is properly and securely closed to prevent the contents from getting wet! PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE MUSIC-THEMED OBJECT INSIDE THE CACHE AS IT IS NOT A TRACKABLE. It adds to the experience of the cache and is made for all to enjoy.
Boots are recommended, as the trails here can be quite muddy.
You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
