Geocache Description:

Old Stone Church

old-stone-church-copy

The first meeting place for the Maple Hill Community Congregational Church was constructed in 1882, just west of the present town site. The Old Stone Church, as it is presently known, is used today as a chapel for funerals, weddings, and special services. Worship is held annually in the native limestone building on the Sunday proceeding Memorial Day. A cemetery encircles the Old Stone Church, where many post-civil war era Kansans are laid to rest.

This is an easy park and grab a short mile or so from the highway. You are looking for a standard size ammunition box. Please push the box far enough back in its hiding place so it remains out of sight from muggles.

This cache is available from sunrise to sundown only. Please, no night caching. And as always, please be respectful while you visit the area. Enjoy a beautiful view of the Kansas Flint Hills while you are here. Thanks for visiting!!
