Take a trip to some lovely countryside, then spend your time rummaging around in the bushes.
On one of our semi-regular trips to visit the inlaws while they have a camping/caravaning trip away, I decided to make the most of it by hiding a new cache.
The inlaws like to stay at a camping ground called Ferndale, less than a kilometre's walk from the cache site. The creek that runs from the dam to the campsite has plenty of places for a dip, or even just a fossick around in the rocks. A main walking trail that runs along the pipeline has gates locked against cars, but is fine for pedestrians.
On the day it was hidden, we got to see a chopper making a number of short runs to the dam to fill up one of those hanging bucket things, then go dump it on a nearby bushfire.
Once you find the lookout's location, you will have to go slightly off trail, although the neglected overgrowth may make it hard for you to spot just when you have left the path. The cache was originally hidden under a largish rock with a smaller rock blocking direct access. Since then it has proven to be a very damp place to hide a cache, so it has been moved a few meters away (but within search limits) and will hopefully be much drier. The new spot is also behind a rock, but above ground level.
