Ein Spaziergang durch das Zentrum Wiens, auf den Spuren Sigmund Freuds.
A walk through the center of Vienna, on the tracks of Sigmund Freud.
Inspiriert wurde ich durch den Führer "Stadtführer auf den Spuren Sigmund Freuds" herausgegeben von w@lz - Wiener LernZentrum und dem Betreiber des Sigmund Freud Museums, der Sigmund Freud Privatstiftung.

Organisatorisches:
Die Universität (Stage 4) ist an Werktagen von 6:00 - 22:00 , Samstag von 6:00 - 22:00 offen, an Sonn- und Feiertagen geschlossen.
Der Cache selbst ist wochentags bis 19h und Samstag vormittags zugänglich ( Auch wenn die Möglichkeit bestehen sollte, zu anderen Zeiten zum Cache zu gelangen, so könnte der Rückweg ein Problem darstellen).
Der Empfang ist örtlich sehr schlecht, daher empfiehlt es sich, die Stages vorher auf dem Stadtplan anzusehen, wenn du dich nicht in Wien auskennst.
Der Besuch des Museums empfiehlt sich zwar, ist aber nicht Voraussetzung.
Bei Stage 4 bietet es sich an, einen weiteren Cache zu besuchen: Aula.
Stage 1 - Akademie der Wissenschaften

Im Gebäude der Akademie der Wissenschaften war zu Freuds Zeiten die Universität untergebracht. Er begann hier 1875 als 17-jähriger sein Medizinstudium und beendete es 1881.
Wenn du davorstehst, zähle die zwischen Erdgeschoß und erstem Stock befindlichen gehörnten Köpfe auf der dir zugewandten Seite des Gebäudes und nenne das Ergebnis A.
Stage 2 - Cafe Korb

Ein von Freud frequentiertes Cafe, in dem außerdem die Sitzungen der "Wiener Psychoanalytischen Gesellschaft" stattfanden.
Vor der Schmalseite des Cafes steht ein Mann, der allerdings mit Freud außer einem Vollbart nicht viel gemeinsam hat.
Wandle den ersten Buchstaben des Gegenstandes, den er in der rechten Hand hält, nach bekanntem Schema in einen Buchstaben um (A=1, B=2, ... Es ist derselbe Buchstabe in deutsch und englisch) und nenne das Ergebnis B.
Stage 3 - Cafe Landtmann

Eines der bekanntesten Cafes in Wien, auch hier verweilte Sigmund Freud gerne.
Zähle die Löwenköpfe, die den längeren der beiden ringstraßenseitigen Balkons tragen und nenne ihre Zahl C.
Stage 4 - Universität Wien

Auch wenn Freud nicht hier studierte (St. 1), findest du doch im Arkadenhof eine Büste zu seinen Ehren.
Links von ihm findest du die Büsten zweier miteinander Verwandter. Such das vorletzte Wort auf der gemeinsamen Tafel und die Buchstaben dieses Wortes und nenne die Summe D.
Stage 5 Sigmund Freud Park

Der Park wurde 1961 vom heutigen Votivpark getrennt und nach Sigmund Freud benannt.
Suche das Denkmal, zähle die Serifen an den beiden griechischen Buchstaben, die an oberster Stelle stehen und nenne ihre Zahl E.
Stage 6 - Berggasse 19

Ein würdiger (vorläufiger) Schlusspunkt ist die Berggasse 19.
Sigmund Freud wohnte und arbeitete hier von 1892 bis 1938, als er aus Wien flüchten musste.
Heute befindet sich hier das Sigmund Freud Museum.

Da die ursprünglich verwendete Tafel abmontiert wurde, gibt es eine Alternativfrage:
Auf dem Nebenhaus, in dem sich das Café Freud befindet, gibt es ganz rechts es eine kleine Tafel des Haubetreuers. Schau dir die Mobiltelefonnummer nach der Betreibernummer 0664 an, um auf eine jahreszahl zu kommen: Füge die erste, zweimal die fünfte und die sechste Stelle zu einer vierstelligen Jahreszahl in der Form xyyz zusammen und nenne diese Zahl F.

Du findest den Cache unter der Laterne, ohne Schlüssel geht das Versteck ein wenig streng auf.

Organisational matters:
Opening hours of the University, Stage 4: Working days 6 am to 10 pm, saturday 6 am to 2 pm, closed on sunday and public holiday.
You can go for the cache itself weekdays until 7 p.m. and on saturdays until noon.
At some stages the GPS reception is not that good, so you should have a look at the city map before you start.
A visit of the museum (Stage 6) is recommended but not necessary in order to find the cache.
At stage 4 you might do a short detour and visit another cache: Aula.
Stage 1 - Academy of Sciences

Freud started to study medicine 1875, aged 17, and graduated 1881.
At that time the University of Vienna was located in this building, which is now the residence of the Academy of Sciences.
Standing in front of the building count the horned heads above the ground floor and call their number A.
Stage 2 - Cafe Korb

A cafe frequented often by Freud.
And the sessions of the "Wiener Psychoanalytischen Gesellschaft" ("Viennese Psychoanalytical Society") were held in here as well.
There is a man in front of the narrow side of the café who has not much in common with Freud except being bearded.
Take the first letter of the item the man is holding in his right hand and transform it into a number (A=1, B=2, ... It is the same letter in German and in English). Call this number B.
Stage 3 - Cafe Landtmann

Another traditional café where Freud liked to stay, one of the most famous cafes in Vienna.
Count the lionheads carrying the longer of the balconies on the second floor (the one above the ground floor) and call their number C.
Stage 4 - University of Vienna

In the arcade court you can find a bust in honour of Freud.
To the left of him you find the busts of two related scholars. Look at theplate concerning both of them and count hte letters of the last but one word, giving D.
Stage 5 - Sigmund Freud Park

The park was separated from the now called Votivpark in 1961, when it was also renamed after Freud.
Find the Memorial and count the number of serifs at the two greek letters and call their number E.
Stage 6 - Berggasse 19

The final stage before the cache is Freuds former home and office, where the Sigmund Freud Museum shows a documentation of his life and work.
He stayed here from 1892 until his flight from Vienna in 1938.

At the border of the house containing the museum and the neighbouring house containing the café Freud you will find a small plate of the firm doing the maintenance (Hausbetreuung) of the house #17. Take a look at the mobile phone number of this firm, omitting 0664. Create a year joining the first, two times the fifth and the sixth digit of this phone number. Call the resulting year (xyyz) F.
