The Illinois DeLORME Challenge
The posted coordinates are not the actual coordinates for the cache. Do not attempt to search at posted coordinates it is in the center of two very busy highways. Use the coordinates to plan your final page as the final cache is near.
The DeLORME Atlas & Gazetteer is published for all 50 states. These maps are a favorite among travelers and outdoorsmen and are available at many locations, including online directly from DeLorme.
Map Complements of Geognerd
The rules are simple, to complete this will take some time, effort and love of our game.
1. Find or place a cache within the boundaries of each page of the Illinois DeLorme Atlas & Gazetteer. All cache types count as finds or hides for the DeLorme Challenge with the exception of events (CITO included) and locationless caches. There are 81 map pages in the Illinois DeLorme.
2. Generally accepted rules, guidelines and conditions for logging a cache find apply. These must be bona fide caches listed on Geocaching.com that you have personally (physically) found and logged. You may include caches found or hidden prior to the creation of The Illinois DeLorme Challenge.
3. Remember all caches logged, or placed, must meet the guidelines including not setting vacation caches that cannot be maintained, All caches must be bona fide caches logged, placed and maintained by you.
4. After completing the challenge you will need to send me a list of the caches found or hidden so it can be verified the challenge has been completed.(.GPX format is preferred)
I will send you the coordinates to the final cache and log book.
The FTF prize and cache contents have yet to be determined (I think I have some time). Any suggestions?
Many thanks go out to Haicoole for the original idea for this cache and to Geognerd for allowing me to take over his idea for a Illinois Challenge.
FTF!
