Geocache Description:

This is a pretty 2-mile circular walk with minor inclines though an attractive area managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust. The route follows the Self-Guided Walk, until it turns off just before the end. The A3 is audible for most of the walk, but if the beauty of a walk can make up for that road noise, then this one can.

The above co-ordinates are for the car park. Part of fun will be finding this car park! Study your maps carefully. It is only 20 yards from the A3 but how many stories will those 20 yards bring us?

Set off on the Self-GuidedNWalk which is well signposted from the end of the car park. At two points on the walk you need to make a note of the precise GPS reading at that spot. This will give you a value for A, B, C and D.

The first is at the bench where you can sit and see as far as the Hogs Back in the far distance.

N51 x x . A x x

W00 x x . B x x

The second is at the entrance drive to the house called Mousehill Corner.

N51 x x . C x x

W00 x x . D x x

You will (should) now be standing at the junction of four paths, five if you count one only a few yards away, and six if you include the private driveway. Use the details from A, B, C and D to decide which is the path best followed to get to:

N51 10. F    W00 39. G

Where F = 2(A2 - B2 + D2) + A + C

And where G = (A x B)2 + A + B + C + D

N.B. For paperless cachers - Where the “2”s following letters or brackets represent the “squared” (to the power of 2) symbol.

This cache has been set with the kind permission and assistance of The Surrey Wildlife Trust, so please respect the area and any feedback will be gladly passed onto them.

Finally, I seem to have got into the habit of recommending pubs on my caches, so to keep the habit going ... try The Stag on the River, Lower Eashing (North on A3) or The Three Horseshoes, Thursley (South on A3).
