Geocache Description:


This cache is related to the Project “GEO FRANCIGENA” (see the project at (visit link) it is located at the starting point in the Vatican City of the travel of Archibishop Sigeric from Rome to Canterbury in 990 A.D. when he was in Rome to be nominated Archibishop by the Pope John VI. The track crosses the regions of Lazio, Toscana, Emilia, Liguria, Piemonte, Val d'Aosta (Italy), Vaud (Switzerland), France-Comtè, Champagne-Ardenne, Picardie, Nord Pas de Calais (France), Kent (England). Nowadays the pilgrims start from here, but by train! The cache is placed near the Railroad Station of Vatican. The cache is a small plastic cylinder, containing only the logbook.

WARNING! THe area is under the strict surveillance by the Italian and Vatican Security. Videocameras are pointed to the walls and undercover agents patrol the border. Act as a Secret Agent! You are in a mission in Vatican! And.. believe me.. to be considered a possible terrorist is not a nice experience! The policemen of the intelligence are not so friendly..

Questo cache è collegato al progetto “GEO FRANCIGENA” (vedere il progetto in (visit link) ed è posta nel punto di partenza dalla Città del Vaticano del viaggio dell'arcivescovo Sigerico da Roma a Canterbury nell'anno 990, quando fu in Roma per essere nominato Arcivescovo dal Papa Giovanni VI. Il tracciato attraversa le regioni di Lazio, Toscana, Emilia, Liguria, Piemonte, Val d'Aosta (Italia), Vaud (Svizzera), France-Comtè, Champagne-Ardenne, Picardie, Nord Pas de Calais (Francia), Kent (Inghilterra). Oggigiorno i pellegrini partono da qui, ma in treno! Il cache è posto vicino alla Stazione Ferroviaria del Vaticano. Si tratta di un cilindro di plastica contenente solo il logbook.

ATTENZIONE! L'area è sotto la stretta sorveglianza della Sicurezza Italiana e Vaticana. Videocamere sono puntate sulle mura e agenti in borghese pattugliano il confine. Agite come agenti segreti! Siete in una missione in Vaticano! E.. credetemi essere considerati possibili terroristi non è una bella esperienza! I poliziotti dei servizi non sono così amichevoli..
