Geocache Description:

This is part of a multi cache each loggable in their own right taking you to one final location

THE WATCHING PLACE
The watching place is about 4 miles from moretonhampstead on the B3212 road across Dartmoor. It is a mysterious and sinister spot which is located where the road is met by the B3344 its name appears on the sign post

It is believed that the local lord of the manor once possessed the right to have gallows on the edge of his lands. these gallows were put to much use with a vast number of its customers being highwayman, some of these being left to dangle long after their death to serve as a warning to others
the watching place was where the relatives, or friends had to wait and watch before being allowed to remove the dead The other suggestion is that this particular spot was where the highwayman would watch out for their next victims.

Whoever it was actually doing the watching it is known for animals whether walked by lead ,drawn or ridden to react strongly to passing this point, maybe they have the feeling of being watched !!

This is a nice and easy cache and dash with places to be able to pull over the car and stop, just be careful who knows who maybe watching you!!

Each cache contains a part co-ordinate for the bonus cache which is a good size ammo box. As well as the co-ords you will find a single number in red in four of the caches, you will need these later. You will need to bring a pen/cil for the logs
