Geocache Description:

This is part of a multi cache each loggable in their own right taking you to one final location

If you stand on top of any tor on Dartmoor when the mist is swirling around you and the sun is long gone and look around you can begin to feel the magic that makes Dartmoor this very special place that so many of us love so much .although on first appearance many may think it is a bleak and barren landscape,
Dartmoor is steeped in ancient folklore and legends some are based on fact and others have expanded over the years from word of mouth If you let yourself believe in all of them you would probably never want to come back
This series of caches will take to places where hairy hands, roman legions, headless horses fierce some hounds. Ancient burial places, stone tombs and most of all the devil himself is said to roam,
Take care and let us know if you encounter any strange occurrences whilst on your search Above all keep safe and take all necessary precautions for walking on Dartmoor

Hangmans Pit
On the Holne to Hexworthy road is an overgrown maze of tinners gullies if you stop and walk into the gully you will see a dank, boggy hollow which has been home to a large family of badgers (it still might be but we have not seen any ) A sad and poor farmer hung himself from a tree in this very gully after losing all his money It is said that on dark nights you can hear the creaking of his corpse blowing in the wind This cache is a nice simple cache and dash, GPS reception maybe a bit ropey.

Each cache will contain a part co-ordinate. The first 10 caches are all small pots but the last is a good size ammo box with a prize for FTF as well as the co ords you will find a single number in red in three of the caches you will need these later .you will need to bring a pen/cil for the logs
