Geocache Description:

Ljubljana - a nice city that I really love - would deserve more caches. So I invite you for a short walk around the old city to see the pictures personally that you would see for sure in an album about the city. All caches except for the last one are virtual due to the number of tourists and students present in the area 24/7.

The tour consists of one starting point that you know the coordinates of and three others that you'll have to collect while walking around. As the beginning will be always the same, you should always assume the following: N 46°02.9xx' and E 14°30.yyy'. If you follow the instructions, you'll find the xx and yyy of the next cache.

As there are four points to find, let me call the coordinates as follows: AB (xx) and CDE (yyy) for the first, FG(xx) and HI (yy) for the second, JK (xx) and LM (yy) for the last point and finally NO (xx) and PQ (yy) for the container. Where there are only two digits for yyy, the last one shall be considered as zero.

Let's start with the first point!

Following your GPS to the coordinates given, you should find the nice square with the Triple Bridge. If you look around carefully, you'll find a few words on the bridge. Consider N 46°02.9AB' and E 14°30.CDE'. Count the number of dots, it's DE (with a leading 0). The number of rows in the writing (all rows, not just the text!) gives C. Count the letters of the first and the last word in the first row, that gives A and B. Don't sum them, A is the first, B is the last!

You have now the coordinates, you are now ready to proceed to the second point!

You should find yourself some 130-140 meters from the starting point in front of an important and nice building. Reading what you have to read, you'll learn about how many named people played an important role in establishing this building. Consider N46°02.9FG' and E 14°30.HI'. Their number (with a leading zero) is FG for your next point. Now step back: the building has a ground floor, a first floor and a second floor. The number of windows on the first floor gives H while the number of the windows on the second floor gives I. Beware, the balcony counts as one!

Perfect, you have now the coordinates of the next landmark!

You are 200-220 meters away from the previous point. You should have a nice overview through Ljubljanica river, being able to see the tower of the Ljubljana castle on the east and all the nice cafes and restaurants in this area. Consider N 46°02.9JK' and E 14°30.LM'. Count the high columns without light on one side of the bridge for J, then add the number of those with a light on the top for K. For LM, enter the first street to the west from the point (a very-very short street where the bridge leads to) and take the first building on the right: the number of windows in a row gives M, while the number of equally windowed floors gives L.

You are almost there!

The last point to visit is known now, just 140-160 meters from the previous one. The building is very important, as this kind of establishment hosts somehow 20% of the citizens in Ljubljana. It is also a memorial of the well-merited independence of the country - acknowledged by the EU.

To find the container, you need to visit one more place. Consider N 46°02.9NO' and E 14°30.PQ'. Here are the coordinates: for NO, simply use 00. For PQ, you will need to find the year when Slovenia's independence has been acknowledged by Europe (it is set in stone at the memorial), then sum the digits and use the result. Following the coordinates you just found out, you will find yourself in a small park with high trees. The container is hidden on one of the high trees and it is not easy to find! The coordinates lead you to the park, but not directly to the tree, this is due to the poor signal under the trees. The container is really small, can not hold much, but I gave it some initial content.

Good luck!

- za prvo točko (po začetni): AB (xx) in CDE (yyy);
- za drugo točko: FG (xx) in HI (yy);
- za tretjo točko: JK (xx) in LM (yy);

Zdaj pa k formuli: N 46°02.9JK' and E 14°30.LM'.

Formula je: N 46°02.9NO' and E 14°30.PQ'. Koordinate izračunate takole: za NO preprosto uporabite 00.
