Geocache Description:

Enjoy this piece of history and the cache. The above coordinates will take you to a commemorative plaque that will give you the clues for the final stage that is a "Hail Mary" walk away.

On October 3, 1920 the first game matching two professional teams in the league that was to become the National Football League (NFL) was held on this field within Triangle Park. The Dayton Triangles team was sponsored by three factories founded by Dayton businessmen Edward Deeds and Charles Kettering. The factories: Dayton Engineering Laboratories Company (DELCO), Dayton Metal Products Company (D.M.P. Co.) and Domestic Engineering Company (DECO, later called Delco-Light) formed an industrial triangle of plants in downtown Dayton, Ohio. Upon arriving at the sign note the score of the game. Add up the total points scored and double that number to get a two digit number (AB). Plug that number into N 39 47.0AB to get the first part of the final's location. Now notice a hyphenated number in the bottom right corner of the sign in the form of CD-E. Drop the hyphen to give yourself a three digit number (CDE). Now add 386 to that number to get a new three digit number (FGH). Plug that into W 084 11.FGH to get the second half of the final's location. No need to go down that steep incline! The final stage is a small container with some trade items. Bring your own writing instrument. Please replace the cache as you found it, and don't forget your wine and corkscrew for the celebration.
