Geocache Description:

This is a nice public location that you can return to for many different outdoor activities. Although camping is not allowed, just about everything else is including fishing and hunting. be sure to be careful and wear some blaze orange during deer season or just go in on sunday when hunting is closed.

Alonzo H. Garcelon WMA is a good sized track of land that is used for many recreational activities. Please stay alert while using the trail systems here as many people also use them for four wheeling etc. There are many ways to enter the area and many trails within it. You can Find your own way in to the loot by using maps etc. or you can use mine. I chose to enter from the Church Hill Road in Augusta at N44° 21.655' W69° 42.802' ( about 2 1/4 mi from route 3). This trail is unmarked but is visible and quite noticable from the road. If you have a regular car or small truck I recommend parking close to the entry point (there are a few spots off to the sides close to the point of entry). If you have a larger truck or a 4WD then you can go in about as far as N44° 21.783' W69° 41.596' because if you go much farther you will come to a bridge that is safe for foot traffic and Atv's but > for Automobiles and will have to back out to a safe parking spot. The container is a clear plastic suitcase type rig and we put lots of goodies in it to include the "key me" travel bug and one of My new signature treasures. Have fun!!!!
