Geocache Description:

This multi-micro short cache is set in the gorgeous village of Lockeridge Dene near Marlborough. The short walk takes you through the 'glacial erratics' (see Glaciers in Southern England Earthcache) and shows many of the boulders left by the retreating glaciers. 3 points of cache are all within feet of each other and whole lot can be completed in about 15 mins. Could get muddy after wet weather.

The reason for the title lies within feet of the information board as you will see. The reason for the cache is the history of the boulders :

This National Nature Reserve has 25000 Sarsen Stones which have been dropped here by the retreating glaciers after the last Ice Age. These are known as Glacial Erratics and this collection is the best in Great Britain of its kind.

Before you proceed to the given coordinates, visit N51 24.358 W001 47.393 and you will find an information board. On the reverse find the last three numbers (bottom RH corner) and let these be a b and c.
Now proceed to the stated waypoint of N51 24.340 W001 47.572 where you will find a big gate. Count the number of horizontal wooden bars (d) and the number of diagonal wooden bars (e). Now solve the following equation to lead you to the cache:

N51 24. (a+d-e-e) (e+e) 8
W001 47. (a+d-e) (d-e) c

Please ensure the cache (35mm film canister) is hidden well after logged.

Whilst in the area please ensure you take a photo of yourselves and the stones to log our 'Lockeridge Dene Earthcache'. This cache was originally intended to be an Earthcache until we realised that you could not place a physical box to be found on an Earthcache. Consequently this was done as a seperate cache.
