The starting place for this series is the Ogwen Warden Centre at N53 07.23 W 004 01.11. There is Pay-and-Display parking at the centre or you can park up the road on a free car park. Follow the public footpath.
If you look around the edge of the lake here – in fact if you just look at where you are standing - you will see Drumlins. These are commonly found where glaciers have been. You can see these lumpy bumps on both sides of the lake. It is not clear in detail how Drumlins were formed but they always come in “swarms”. One thing for certain about the Drumlins is they they are piles of dirt and rocks dropped by the glacier as it melted back. The interesting question is why they appear in swarms . . .
