Southernmost point of Austria Multi-cache

Es sind in eine Richtung ungefaehr 3.5 km mit einer Hoehendifferenz von ca. 1100 m zu bewaeltigen.
Die direkte Variante (ohne Alternative) sollte in etwa 5 Stunden (3 rauf, 2 runter). Ich empfehle, sich mehr Zeit
zu nehmen. Auch um die schoenen schroffen Felsformationen bewundern zu koennen.
Gute Wanderschuhe sind unbedingt notwendig, fuer Alternativen empfiehlt sich ein Klettersteigset und Helm.

• Waypoint 1/Wegpunkt 1:

White-red dots are seaming the trail, sometimes other red-white-red markings. Just follow them.
Already need a break? I don't hope so! No task at this stage!
Weiss-rote Punkte saeumen den Weg. Abwechselnd mit anderen rot-weiss-roten Markierungen.
Schon Zeit fuer die erste Rast? Ich hoffe noch nicht! Keine Aufgabe bei dieser Station!

• Waypoint 2/Wegpunkt 2:

After a short walk on a thightrope you will stand in front of a wall of rock. On it you will
find some brushed things. Also a 4-digit number.
A = first number
B = last number
Nach einem kurzen Drahtseilakt stehst Du vor einem Felswand, auf die einige Sachen
gepinselt sind. Unter anderem eine 4-stellige Zahl.
A = erste Ziffer
B = letzte Ziffer

• Waypoint 3/Wegpunkt 3:

Thursty? Refresh yourself at the springwell. Otherwise there is nothing to do at this stage.
Durst? Erfrische Dich an der Quelle. Ansonsten gibt es bei dieser Station nichts zu tun.

• Waypoint 4/Wegpunkt 4:

You are standing in front of a not very tidied hut. On its forefront you will find a green plate.
Focus the last line.
C = convert last letter of second word into a number (A=1, B=2, C=3, ..., Z=26)
D = numbers of letters of the first word
E = numbers of letters of the second word
Du stehst vor einem leider nicht gerade aufgeraeumten Schutzhuette. An ihrer Vorderseite
ist eine gruene Tafel befestigt. Betrachte die letzte Zeile.

A parting of the trails. Count the number of letters, which are painted on the rock.

You are now on the Saddle Of Sanntal. Search for a boundary stone. It is sunk completely in the ground!
G = first number of 3-digit-number
Du befindest Dich am Sanntaler Sattel. Suche nach einem Grenzstein. Er ist total im Boden versenkt!

• Waypoint 7/Wegpunkt 7:

You are now on the Saddle of Lakeland (Seeland). Count the number of letters of the text painted with red color on the ground.
H = numbers of letters of the the word
Du befindest Dich am Seelaender Sattel. Zaehle die Anzahl der Buchstaben jenes Wortes, welches mit roter Farbe auf den Boden gepinselt ist.

• Waypoint 8/Wegpunkt 8:

There is no task at this stage. Only to be sure that you will stay on the marked trail!
Keine Aufgabe bei dieser Station! Nur um sicher zu gehen, dass Du auch wirklich auf dem Weg bleibst!

• Waypoint 9/Wegpunkt 9:

This is the chosen southermost point of Austria for this cache. Pedants might note, that
geogaphically this is not completely correct. But this is the closes point, one can reach secure and
on marked hikingtrails.
Here you will find a red plate. Focus on the text in the last line. Here you will find two single letters and one extra word.
I = convert the first letter into a number (as above), divide this number by 4 and add the value 1 to the result.
J = convert the second letter into a number (as above) and subtract the value 1 from this result.
Das ist der fuer diesen Cache ausgewaehlte suedlichste Punkt Oesterreichs. Pedanten duerfte auffallen, dass dies geografisch nicht ganz korrekt ist. Allerdings ist dies der naechstgelegene Punkt, der sicher und auf einem markierten Wanderweg erreichbar ist.
Hier findest Du eine rote Tafel. Betrachte den Text in der letzten Zeile. Da befinden sich zwei Einzelbuchstaben und ein Extrawort (schwer lesbar).
I = wandle den ersten Einzelbuchstaben in eine Zahl um (wie oben), dividiere das Ergebnis durch 4 und zaehle anschließend den Wert 1 dazu.
J = wandle den zweiten Einzelbuchstaben in eine Zahl um (wie oben) und ziehe vom Ergebnis den Wert 1 ab.

• The Cache/Der Cache:

• Eager for some climbing?/Lust auf eine kleine Kletterei?

Then take the other trail at waypoint 5. With equipment for fixed rope routes
you get to a small summit at N 46 22.518 E 14 33.684. Unfortunately the trail ends here, so you have to climb
down the same way you came up.
You will have to decide for yourself, whether its worth to make these additional 500 feet. I enjoyed it.
Dann nimm bei Wegpunkt 5 den anderen Weg. Mit Klettersteigset
kommst Du zu einem kleinen Gipfel bei N 46 22.518 E 14 33.684. Dort fuehrt allerdings kein Weg weiter!
Ob es Dir die zusaetzlichen 150 Hoehenmeter wert ist, musst Du selber wissen. Mir hats gefallen.

• Still higher?/Noch hoeher rauf?

South of Waypoint 9 (N 46 22.270 E 14 33.975) is another nice vistapoint, further south
leads a via ferrata to Križ (another 880 feet).
Suedlich von Wegpunkt 9 (N 46 22.270 E 14 33.975) gibt es noch einen schoenen Aussichtspunkt,
weiter suedlich geht ein Klettersteig weiter in Richtung Križ (nochmals 270 Hoehenmeter).

• The same trail up and down is too boring?/Den selben Weg rauf und runter zu langweilig?

From your car park follow the forestroad to N 46 23.753 E 14 33.907, the up until you reach
the Jenckalm (4900 feet) at N 46 23.658 E 14 33.197 and along the ridge over the
Baba (6980 feet) (N 46 22.804 E 14 33.423) to Waypoint 7. From here to Waypoint 9
and the whole series in reverse order. YEP! You will find the cache on the way down!
Abwechslung ist gefragt: Beim Parkplatz die Forststrasse weiter bis nach N 46 23.753 E 14 33.907,
dann rauf auf die Jenckalm (1494 m) bei N 46 23.658 E 14 33.197 und ueber die
Baba (2127 m) (N 46 22.804 E 14 33.423) zum Wegpunkt 7.
Von da zum Wegpunkt 9 und dann die ganze Serie in umgekehrter Reihenfolge runter.
