Romantic ruins and a human tenacity's testimony
In the forest covering the mountains above the Ortiac village, the Saint Orens Abbey is a stone heritage of the patience and the tenacity of the monks that built it centuries ago. Deserted before the French Revolution, the abbey is now invaded by tree and bushes.
Above the abbey, starting at the right of the trail following an old stone wall covered by moss, a small irrigation canal was manually dug to provide water to the abbey and its fields. The cache is in a hole in the rocks overhanging the canal. The GPS reception is poor.

Des ruines romantiques, un témoignage de la ténacité des hommes
Dans les montagnes couvertes de forêts dominant le village d'Ortiac, l'abbaye de Saint Orens est un témoignage du courage et de la ténacité des hommes qui l'ont construite et fait vivre il y a quelques siècles. Abandonnée avant la Révolution Française, l'abbaye est désormais envahie par la végétation.
Au dessus de l'abbaye, à droite d'un sentier montant le long d'un mur moussu, un petit canal d'irrigation servait sans doute à l'alimentation en eau de l'abbaye et de ses champs cultivés. La cache est dans une infractuosité du rocher surplombant le canal. La réception GPS est mauvaise.
Non loin de là, au Donjon des Aigles de Beaucens, des démonstrations de fauconnerie, un autre exemple, vivant celui là, de la patience et de la ténacité des hommes du Moyen Age.
