An interesting recreational area from long(?)ago. My son and I came across this area while looking for other caches in the area within the Paul Douglas Forest Preserve in the Grassy Ridge Meadows Park. This used to be called Fleetwing Farm Tubing Hill in the 1970's to mid 1980's. The extant structure appears to be the control for the cable system that inner tube riders could hang onto to get dragged back up the hill.
Access to this cache got easier with the bike/walking path at the South end of Grassy Meadow parking lot, heading east. Be sure to check out the scenery and archeology. I have moved the cache from its original location after it went missing for the third time. I did find the last container, wedged into a difficult spot. The new container is a camo'd preform. There is no need to reach into anything, but watch your footing in the winter. Be sure to grab A Tree With Plumbing while in the area.
